This weekend marks the start of the Papa John’s Cup. This is the cup organised at the end of the season based on your league position at a certain point in the year. Each level is split into three, Championship which is for those highest placed teams & is contested by the whole county then the Plate & Shield which is split into a north & south division. The plate is the middle section of the league & the shield for the lowest part. We did start the week with six games, however it looks like we are down to two.
This week we also start our junior partnership events with Burleigh Travel moving their annual Somerset event to Yatton RFC for the 1st time following previous events being at Hornets RFC. On Saturday it is the turn of the Junior sides & the Mini’s taking place on Sunday, we supply referees to support the U12s upwards. There are also some final league fixtures & friendlies to look forward to.
