Over the next couple of weekends, we have some fantastic events lined up in Dorset that our members will love to sink their teeth into. With summer upon us and the sun shining brightly, our members are eager to get back out there and brush up on their skills before the start of the season. These events offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful weather, connect with fellow referees from different backgrounds, and get some valuable practice time in.
This weekend, we are excited to announce that two of our referees will be heading to North Dorset RFC for their annual 7s & Cider Festival. Historically, we have had a strong presence at this event, often sending multiple referees to participate. However, due to a change in their referee management team this year, we will be sending just two referees. Chris Hoadley and Phil Low will be representing us, joining fellow referees from Dorset & Wilts and Hampshire. We are confident that Chris and Phil will do an excellent job and maintain our tradition of excellence at this festival. We wish them the best of luck and hope they enjoy the event!
Next weekend, we are excited to announce that a dedicated team of referees will be heading to Weymouth Beach to participate in the annual Beach Tag event. This team will be responsible for managing all fixtures and controlling the scoreboards throughout the entire weekend. The team is composed of Harry Garmston, Paul Goodison, and Rhys Cleary, who will be present on both days, ensuring smooth operations and fair play. They will be joined by Ian Findlay and Mick Wheelhouse from Dorset and Wilts on Saturday, adding their expertise and experience to the event. On Sunday, Stephen Potter will join the team, further strengthening our referee squad. We are confident that their collective efforts will contribute to the success of the Beach Tag event, and we look forward to their excellent performance.
